Abstract
This study was done to determine the effect of integrated program on health promotion of middle aged women. The research design was a nonequivalent control group pre-post test design. The subjects consisted of 76 residents in G province. Thirty-eight subjects were assigned to the experimental group and thirty-eight subjects were assigned to the control group. Data were gathered from March 26 to May 4, 2008 through questionnaires and physiological measurement. Data were analyzed by the SAS package using c2 test, t-test, Fisher¡¯s exact test, and paired t-test. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1) Hypothesis 1 stated that the experimental group which received integrated alternative therapy program would have more physical function states than the control group is divided into two sub-hypotheses. The first sub-hypothesis states that experimental group would have more muscle strength (left and right grip strength) than the control group was supported. Muscle strength increased significantly after treatment. The second sub-hypothesis states that the experimental group would have more balance (one leg standing with eyes closed) than the control group was supported. Balance increased significantly after treatment. 2) Hypothesis 2 states that the experimental group would have more perceived health state scores than the control group was supported. Perceived health state decreased significantly after treatment. 3) Hypothesis 3 states that the experimental group would have more stress scores than the control group was supported. Stress scores increased significantly after treatment. 4) Hypothesis 4 states that the experimental group would have more quality of life scores.
